The Max A. Shacknai Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (COVE) celebrated National Volunteer Week this year with a series of awards for its most dedicated and successful student volunteers.

In this all-new episode of 13 Assistant Dean and Director of International Student Services Kerra Hunter talks about supporting �Ա���Ƶ’s international student population, which currently hails from 44 countries around the world, and the ways the University works to make their transition to studying in the United States as seamless as possible. 

Two of �Ա���Ƶ’s Residential Commons will be led by new codirectors, who will begin their three-year appointments beginning this fall 2021 semester.

A Muslim prayer room and Kosher kitchen in Interfaith House at 110 Broad Street will help to meet the needs of students in �Ա���Ƶ’s increasingly diverse population.

Soon, with an exact date dependent on mother nature’s ice-making schedule, the local community will have the opportunity to glide on Whitnall Field thanks to a brand new outdoor skating rink affectionately dubbed, #gateskates.

Changes to �Ա���Ƶ’s Student Health Services this academic year will increase clinical care availability on campus while also bolstering sports-medicine support for Division I athletes, student club teams, and intramurals. 

�Ա���Ƶ’s Counseling and Psychological Services offered three weekly group therapy sessions three years ago.  Today, university counselors manage 10 to 12 group therapy sessions a week. In the 2018–19 school year, the counseling center provided services to 706 students, 7.4-percent increase compared to 2017–18.

One of �Ա���Ƶ’s two new residence halls will be named Jane Pinchin Hall.

R&B artists Danielle Ponder and The Tomorrow People marked the inaugural Coleman B. Brown Commons “Seekers, Believers, Doubters,” series.

Thanks to an ongoing partnership between students and administration, a more than a dozen restrooms across campus now have new hygiene product dispensers.
